Kit Killing & Stash Busting

Today I wanted to share with you what I was up to this past weekend.  I subscribe to Studio Calico's main scrapbook kit and I am on the Paper Bakery Kit Club DT.  Lately my scrap stash has been growing out of its storage space.  So I decided that for the next several months instead of buying any add on's over at SC, I would just get my main sub, and Add On paper (only if I really love all the papers) and shop my stash, and create my own counterfeit add on kits.

Here is what I came up with for the Sugar Rush kit

Here is the main kit, and my counterfeit add ons all together

I have added several things like, inks, embossing powders, and stamps. I also added extra coloured cardstock to match the cardstock add on at SC.

The objective was to only use what I had pulled together, and not waste time rummaging around my room for stuff.

In the end, I created a total of 13 layouts. I used up all my patterned paper other than 3 sheets ( 2 I gave to my kids to use, because I wasn't crazy about them and the 3rd I am saving for another project) Here is what I made.....

In the end I didn't really have much left over (I forgot to take a picture, sorry), and I used product like stamps, inks and embellishments that have been sitting around collecting dust.

I should also point out that I also challenged myself to use older pictures that were printed and just sitting in a box.

I am really happy how this all turned out, and will be doing the same thing again in the next week or so with my SC Office Hours Main & Add On Paper.

  2. So much inspiration here! I love your layouts. I have also been trying to use up my old kits by making a lot of layouts. It is a fun challenge! Doesn't it feel good to use those stamps and unused embellies!

  5. Love this! I gave been trying to "kill" Copper Mountain. I have made 8 layouts but it won't die!! Ha ha! I have been working with the main sb kit, embellishments from the main PL kit and more patterned paper. I have been adding things from my stash and using a lot of silhouette cuts as well... So maybe that is why it is not "dying".. Anyways loved what you did.. thanks for sharing!
