I Miss You & Hello

Hi everyone!!! Sorry you haven't heard much from me but my husband and I just bought a hobby store, along with him working full time in and out of town and me taking care of the home and family, my schedule went on the fritz!  Ok, enough about my crazy life, now on to 2 of my latest projects!

First up is a card I made using Sherri Baldy's Birds Nest Stamps
I love this stamp set!  I have to say it may be my favourite!
Seriously how cute is that adorable little girl????
I printed her out on AC textured cardstock, then painted her with my watercolour paints.  Next I used my cloud stamps and Pink Glitter Embossing Powder to hand stamp the clouds, then I used my coordinating cloud punches to punch them out.  I used some foam dots behind the girl and one of the clouds to raise them off the page and add some dimension.  I hand stamped "miss you" with my versamark and used white embossing powder to finish it off.  I then pierced a flower brad into her hair for a little added touch

Other Supplies
Zing Embossing Powder - Pink Glitter & White
Basic Grey PP - Hello Luscious
Fiskars Punch - Clouds XL & L
Prima Chalk Ink - Knotted Wood & Old Road
Versamark
Flower Brad
Watercolour paints

Next up is also a card I made using Sherri Baldy's Birds Nest Stamps.  Did I mention how much I enjoyed this set of digi stamps???
I loved this house so much!!! I printed it onto some AC Textured Cardstock, then painted it with my watercolour paints.  Next I used my corner rounder punch then edged it with my Prima Chalk Ink.  To make the grass, I used my scissors to snip the top of the paper, then I ruffled it with my finger. Next I hand stamped the word Hello with versamark, and then heat embossed it with Purple Metallic embossing powder.  To finish it off, I used about 8 foam dots behind the house to "pop" it off the card
Other Supplies
Zing Embossing Powder - Purple Metallic
Prima Chalk Ink - Garden Grass & Cold Ice
My Minds Eye PP - Lime Twist
Versamark
Watercolour Paints

I hope you enjoyed my latest cards.  I'd love to hear your thoughts!

Daily Life at the Brown's!

This is a typical day around the Brown house!
Lets start with Noah....So we live in a 1960's side split, and I'm fairly certain that the door knobs in the house are just as old (how you ask? umm, maybe the fact that when I took the door knob off the bathroom door, I found vintage wallpaper behind it.....who wallpapers a bathroom door?) Anyhoo back to my story, so Noah  locked himself in the bathroom on purpose, then would come out. He did this several times...he thought it was a game. Not wanting to make a big deal about it, I grabbed a screwdriver to take the handle off, because if he locked Liam in, he wouldn't know what to do. (did I mention the handles are so old, the emergency release was stuck, hence why the handle needed to come off) So I took the handles off, but forgot one key piece....that thingy that clicks the door shut into the moulding.....Oops...so my sister in law Cherika and I are sitting on the couch, (in view of the door) and Noah goes in, shuts the door, and I hear the click....Damn...Cherika goes running up the 6 stairs in a panic.... while I (the fabulous mother I am) just sit back and sip on my coffee (thinking to myself, he is fine, he can't get into trouble there, and that means peace for me, and I can actually finish  my coffee while its still hot)..... then the bright idea hit me, "this would make an awesome Instagram Photo to scrapbook!" (thats the good mother in me - in the event of an emergency snap photo 1st, then react!).....It took 20 minutes, an allen key, a screwdriver, and Cherikas nimble fingers before we were finally able to release him!

Next up is Liam
This is what happens when you give a little boy oatmeal, while there is a 1971 Chevy Chevelle on the table

Then, do you ever get the feeling like someone is watching you...you know that feeling when the hairs on the back of your neck stand up.....
Yep, well, here is who was watching me.....my very own Peeping Tom!!!! A silly furry grey Ninja Squirrel...

Anyone want to come over for a visit? I will supply the entertainment!

Caterpillar

Noah, you had so much fun the day these photos were taken.  You were running around the ditch at Grandma & Papa's house looking for Caterpillars!  You were so excited when you found this adorable brown & orange fuzzy one, you proudly told me "Look Mommy, I found a Caterpiller. Fuzzy is his name!"
I made this layout using Studio Calico's Daydream Believer Kit & Add Ons
Here I stamped the background with a few different Studio Calico background stamps and some Prima Chalk Ink in Old Road and Brick Red
I used my Hero Arts letter stamps and Prima Chalk Ink for the word "summer" and my Smash Date Stamp for "2011"

Thanks for looking!

Lets Play

We decided to take the boys to Colasantis Tropical Gardens for a few hours so they could burn off some energy and we could sit and have coffee with Aunt Sue & Uncle Ken.  Liam was having so much fun running up the climber, then sliding down yelling "Weeee"!  This layout was made using Studio Calico's February Kit - Daydream Believer and some Add Ons.
I used the Dear Lizzy Chipboard Alpha's and painted them
with Mister Hueys in Heirloom Blue.
I then put Glossy Accents over the top.
For the bow I used some ribbon and a brad from the Dear Lizzy Line
I cut out the "photos" from the new Dear Lizzy line, then glued
them down to make a grid.  I used my white gel pen to draw
lines between them and add some Stickles to the
mason jar to give a hint of sparkle

I also used Mister Huey's Shine and misted the green
 paper to add some shimmer

Thanks for taking a peek!

A Perfect Day at the River

It was a hot day in July, when the boys and I picked up Meemaw (aka my mom) and had a picnic down at the river.  What made the day even more exciting for the boys was the F16's from Selfridge Air Force Base were doing practice flights up and down the river!

For this layout I used Studio Calico's Daydream Believer Kit and Add Ons
I used Prima Chalk Ink in Old Road to stamp "@ the river"
I also used Prima Chalk Inks in Blue Jay & Brick Road to stamp
the star & circle.  For the trim, I misted it with Mister Hueys Clay,
then used Mister Hueys Dewey and splattered over top of it.
Thanks for stopping by!
