Sweet Kisses

I think I have finally found my niche in the scrapbooking world. I realized I love to scrap with busy patterned paper.  It took me a while to figure that out.  I tried to love working with cardstock as a base, but it just wasn't working for me. It was when I gave myself permission to not have to scrap like others, that I really fell in love with the hobby.
I hoarded the MME paper for over a year.  I loved it so much, but a year ago I was too scared to "ruin it"
I absolutely adore this flair from The Paper Bakery.  The owner Sarah make all her own flair, and even team up with companies like Pretty Little Studio, and American Crafts to create exclusive ones!  This was from the set Thats My Boy.

I added some fun bits like the MME Bee brad, and the Studio Calico butterfly stickers and put a pop dot under them.

One of my favourite things to do is to mix my fonts when adding my title.

Sequins, Stickles and Mister Hueys always add an extra little touch to my layouts.

What was your "ah ha" moment in scrapbooking?

  2. Love your layout. I'm still waiting for my aha moment - I love clean and simple and lots of layers/embellishments - trying to figure out how to merge the two ideas

  9. I just love this layout Danielle. My ah-hah moment was when I realized that I will probably never scrapbook in muted colors. I tried doing that and it just didn't work, I love pops of color. I love that you are true to yourself, busy patterned paper and all.

  10. Love this one Danielle! Isn't it crazy that we have to "give ourselves permission" to do what feels right? I'm always in awe of how you mix and match patterned papers ...that's one thing that scares me to death ..lol! Keep doing your thing girl...it WORKS!!!!!

  12. Great page - and I totally understand about finding your niche - last year, I finally admitted to myself that I don't like to do 12x12's - I prefer mini books, SMASHbooks, and Project Life! I still love looking at 12x12's though, because I get inspiration and ideas that I can use in my projects!!

  13. I don't know if I've had my ah-ha! moment yet. I am constantly learning and trying new techniques and products so I never seem to settle into a groove. Maybe constantly changing is my thing - hahaha! Although I do like my mixed media layouts the best. And, like you, I love to use patterned paper as a background for my layouts. Good to know I'm not the only one.
