What an exciting day this was for all of us! Hahahha! I had the crappiest screen door known to man! You know the one I mean, the one where the dogs and kids have pushed out the screen because its on the bottom...(seriously, a man must have invented that idea) You had to take the bottom glass out so you could clean both sides (or I could have just went around the other side and lifted the screen to use my Windex) The glass was scratched, the frame was bent so if you sat on the couch a certain way, you could actually see daylight through the frame....
Anyway,( insert happy dance here.....) the day finally came, that I literally had a break down over my front door! It was a chilly November morning and I had decided to wipe the finger prints, dog snot and boy spit off the door....it was this day that I lost it....I sat on the floor crying and muttering under my breath about this darn door....Clay was looking very perplexed, (probably thinking my wife is off her rocker, its a bloody door!) Well, he must have had enough, because the next thing I know, he took off with the truck and came back with my new door!!!!....
So your probably all wondering, what's the big deal, why didn't you buy one sooner...well, because I am a mom, and I clean the door at least 2 times a day, I needed the perfect door....you know the one, its that one calling your name at the hardware store, but its completely out of your budget....the one a mom must have designed......the one where the screen is on the top, and....are you ready....the screen is a phantom screen that when you pull the window down, it rolls out of the top of the frame, and when you push the window up to close it, it rolls back into the frame......no more taking out glass so you can wash both sides, no more kids and dogs pushing the screen out!

There was a day when I cool and fashionable and if I had $400 to blow it would have been on these Frye Harness boots and not a screen door....its a sad day when a new screen door brings you so much joy and happiness......
so to remember this day that brought me from one end of the emotional spectrum to the other I (like any scrappy mom...) took photos to remember this day and scrapbook them. I will always remember this day when my Frye Boots new screen door brought me so much joy.....
So tell me....can you relate or am I just crazy SAHM ?
also don't forget about my give away below....if you enter your chances are really good!!!! lol!
Haha! I've been right there with you! I have that same exact door in my scrapbook room that leads to the back yard! I love it! What a lovely memory to scrap about!
ReplyDeleteOh Valerie.....sigh....isn't it the best door ever
DeleteOh Danielle...thanks for a good laugh. This is what scrapbooking is really all about...preserving all those crazy, happy, sad moments in life.
ReplyDeletelol Marie! Its only to keep my sanity!!!
Deletegreat moment to scrap about... oh and i love that blue ruffle!
ReplyDeleteI love that ruffle too! Its Studio Calico's Scrap Tissue trim!
DeleteI love the way you scrap and need to take a lesson from you! Great story and great LO!!
ReplyDeleteThank you Ellen!!!
DeleteHee hee hee. Too funny. Love that you scrapped it. Those *are* cute boots, but I think the money was better spent. Just my opinion. LOL. :-D
ReplyDeleteBut this is coming from a girl who doesn't really like to spend much money on clothes or shoes... :-) Okay, I did buy a pair of $110 hiking/walking shoes last week. But we hike EVERY week, and we take walks EVERY day. So... to me, that's worth it. You'll use this door every day! Promise! ;-) LOL.
Lol!!! your so funny! I agree with the better spent $$$$....the only problem was, we loved the door so much, we spent another $400 for the door off our kitchen....(and I still have a back door to replace!)hmmm I wonder if it would have been cheaper just to buy the boots? lol! just kidding!
DeleteGreat story, Great page, totally able to relate! :D
ReplyDeleteWe don't have screen doors here, but i know what you are talking about, i have been there with other home items :)
ReplyDeletethat is a great page!
ReplyDeleteso funny. I can totally relate. I hate cleaning my patio door, it always looks insane five seconds after I do anyway. AARGH. I have a retractable screen, but the bottom is broken anyway.
ReplyDeleteSo great to capture the moment on this page. You need to add a hidden flap with this whole story on it. ;) Love that ruffle you created too.
Great page and great blog
ReplyDeleteI'm laughing because I could SO see myself breaking down over the door. Just crying and crying over spit and smudges on a door. Sometimes we just finally lose it, amirite? (Thanks for linking this up to #findingthefunny last week!)
