Happy Valentines Day Clay

I love this man more everyday! Who would have thought almost 10 years ago we would have met on an online dating service?

He declared his love for me, I wanted to break up with him (I was just scared). He sold his house (4 hours away from me) and moved into my apartment. After a whirlwind romance, engagement, new house, and pregnant all within 14 months, we settled into this thing we call "life"

2 kids, 2 dogs, 2 houses later, here we are, and I wouldn't change a thing. We are not perfect. We have had our ups and downs just like any relationship, but we compliment each other and here we are 10 years later, stronger than ever, more in love everyday and I wouldn't change a thing!
Last night we were driving home from my Mom's house, just having random conversations about nothing important, and I said "Can you imagine if I was a meek & mild person" and his response was "no, you're pushy" and was like "WHAT?!!" and he said "Not in a bad way, just a redhead way" and I said "No one has ever said that to me" and he said "Really?!!" and I was like "hmm...do you wish I was more meek & mild?" and he said "Nope, I love you the way you are"

You can read about our first 6 years together HERE

I love you Clay, and I am so glad I didn't break up with you!

Using Pink On A "BOY" Layout...

What?!!! Use Pink on "Boy" layouts?

Yes! You heard correct!
I want to share with you 3 layouts I created using pink on my boys layouts.  Granted, I know my layouts are a bit "in your face" using pink with these 3 layouts, but... maybe you can pull  some ideas from these to incorporate some bits of pink to your layouts.

I love pairing pink, yellow & orange together.
It makes a great summery colour combination.

The Navy & Woodgrain help add a masculine touch to this layout with all the pink

The Lime Green in this layout is a little unexpected hit of colour that breaks up the hot pink & light pink

I hope that this post inspires you to not be afraid to add some pink to your layouts!  Whether it be just a subtle hit, or a more bold touch, its a nice unexpected hit of colour in a sea of the typical blue, red, yellow & orange colours used for boy layouts!

Hard Workin' Man

I want to share with you a layout I created about my husband Clay.  I thought it was fitting to put on the blog today because he is away from home working at the hangar in Thunder Bay right now.  He is one of the hardest working men I know.  He is a great provider, and awesome dad and an amazing hubby!

I used one of the SC album insert pages on the background.  I added sequins and rivets and stitched them into pockets, then stitched it to the page.

On the tag, I wrote the words out the Brooks & Dunn's song "Hard Workin' Man".  I also enclosed a little note to clay.

I love these Jillibean chipboard alphas.  I used my hot glue gun to adhere them.

Lots of layers

Thanks so much for taking a look!

Where Did April Go ?

Lets just say I have the pictures to prove that April was a busy month here in the Brown house!

We played at the park

We rode bikes to school

I scrapbooked.... A LOT!

We went down the slide 100+ times

We got 1 good picture of the boys together!

I sat outside and read lots of books in the nice weather

Liam wrote his name on the wall and blamed it on Noah

We tried new recipes

I embraced my frizzy curls as it warmed up outside

Then I was sad that it snowed the next day

We slept really well, after all the fresh air from playing outside

Papa H & Gin bought the boys a new Jeep!

Molly had her hair cut

They ate LOTS of chocolate

Lots of kisses

Someone turned 4

We couldn't get him off the scooter!
