Adventure

Happy Canadian long weekend everyone!!!
Today I want to share with you a new mixed media layout using the

I had so much fun creating this layout. I started with the Kraft cardstock, and added some white gesso to the background. Once that dried, I splattered some Distress Spray in Blueprint Sketch.

Next I chose a handful of different pattern papers, and several circle punches, and started creating a layered circle pattern on my background. Once I had the circles glued into place, I stitched through some of them with some turquoise thread.

Next up I grabbed my Jane Davenport Coloured Pencils and coloured around every circle to add another pop of colour. I added some of the cork circle pieces, but lightened them up a bit with a White Gelato from my stash.

I used the Crate Paper Here and There roller stamp and a handful of different coloured inks and stamped phrases all over the background.

To complete this layout I trimmed my page, and used my "Notebook" punch on the edges, then layered it on some yellow cardstock and stitched a messy border.

I hope this inspired you to dig into your paper punches and create something new!

Memories Of Our Getaway

Happy Mothers Day weekend everyone! Danielle here with a new layout using the Noel Mignon "Enjoy The Journey" Classic Kit. In honour of Mothers Day, I chose to scrapbook a photo of a trip my Mom & I took 25 year ago.

My layout started with these super fun felt flowers in the kit

I started deconstructing the white one with a few nips from my scissors.

and here is the result.

I thought it added some great unexpected texture to my layout, so I used it as a trim at the top of the page. I adhered it with some tacky glue.

One of my favourite items from the kit this month is the Crate Paper Here and There roller stamp. I stamped different phrases using multiple shade of pink ink all around the layout.

I outlined the Dear Lizzy Thickers with my Sharpie Pen to help them "pop" a bit more.

And no page is complete without some random sequins and splatters from my stash!

Happy Mothers Day Mom!

Our Favourite Trip

Happy Monday Everyone! Danielle here with a new mixed media layout using the Enjoy The Journey Classic Kit

I was drawn to the Turquoise American Crafts Cardstock that was included in the kit. Right away I picked through my stash of Faber Castell Gelatos and came up with a watery colour palette.

I added some gesso to a piece of American Crafts White Cardstock from my stash. Next I grabbed the pack of Crate Paper Here & There Rub Ons from the kit and randomly used them in a circle around the page. ( Tip - as a former scrapbook stash hoarder, don't let your rub on sit around... as time goes by they don't hold up, so use them up while they are new!!! )

The rub ons will act as a resist when you apply Gelatos, or even watercolour paints over them. I used a piece of the plastic package from the rub ons, scribbled the gelatos on, then spritzed with water and mixed together with a paintbrush, then flipped the plastic over on to my paper to achieve this cool watercolour effect.

I used several different ink pads from my stash and the Crate Paper Here & There roller stamp from the kit, and stamped random phrases around the layout.

The ribbon that was included in this months kit was perfect for stitching a little ruffle at the top of the page for more texture.

I fussy cut the word "TRIP" out of one of the embellishments in the kit, then used the roller stamp on top of it.

To finish off the layout I used Sequins, Gold Mist and White Thread for more detail.

Project Life Wk 13 2018

Happy Saturday! Danielle here to share with you my latest project using the Vintage Spring Daily Diary Kit

This weeks Design Team assignment was to incorporate "Texture" to your project.

I did this several ways. The first was to use the ribbon that Noel included in this months kit. I chose to ruffle and stitch it to the side of my layout. The other way I added texture was to use the sequins also included in the kit. I created a shaker pocket with a vellum die cut, then stitched it close. I also used my glossy accents to adhere several that I scattered across a photo.

Here are some close ups

Project Life Wk 12 2018

Happy Saturday everyone! Danielle here with another project using the super cute Vintage Spring Daily Diary Kit

This week I chose to pull out the pops of green that were in this months kit. They add a pop of freshness to some otherwise dreary colour photos (due to weather)

I fussy cut the green butterfly out of one of the Maggie Holmes Flourish papers, and used my stapler to attach it. Another fun element I added was a piece of my sons favourite blue shirt that ripped. I sewed it onto the side of the page for a fun textural element and to bring out another pop of blue from the photos.

I cut out a 3x4 section of a kraft bag that had a souvenir in it, from a work trip my husband was on. I like how it pulled over the wood tone on to this page, to mimic the "wood" style paper on the other page.

Have you been creating with your kits? If so, we would love it if you shared with us over on the Facebook Group!!!

Project Life Wk 11 2018

Happy Saturday!!! Danielle here today to share with you my 2nd project using the Vintage Spring Daily Diary Kit.

This weeks theme is "Spring is in the air". We are having a bit of a late spring where I am from, but I managed to capture the sunrise one morning, showing the snow on the ground. I used the gorgeous rose gold Thickers as part of my title "Where is Spring?"

I also used the super cute puffy bird sticker from the Maggie Holmes Flourish collection as part of the "spring theme" on my project

and here are some close ups

Thanks for stopping by. Have you created anything with the Vintage Spring kits yet? If so, don't forget to share them on the Facebook Group.
